Gacalo Tech was created with a powerful vision: to empower Somali girls with access to digital skills, mentorship, and meaningful opportunities in technology. What began as a small community group june 2025 by Somali women who personally understood the barriers in the tech industry quickly grew into a supportive community where young women could learn, collaborate, and rise together.
As more girls joined, Gacalo Tech evolved into a vibrant network of over 500 members, offering structured programs, hands-on digital training, tech mentorship, and leadership development. With every workshop, event, and shared learning experience, the community strengthened its mission: helping Somali girls unlock their potential and confidently step into the world of technology.
