Gacalo Tech was born from a simple yet powerful belief: Somali girls deserve a place in the digital future.Founded in 2025 by two young Somali developers filled with passion and purpose, Gacalo Tech began as a small study circle a space where a handful of girls met to learn coding, practice digital skills, and support one another.
What started as a modest learning meetup quickly grew into a community-led movement. As more girls joined, it became clear that there was a growing need not just for training, but for mentorship, a safe learning environment, and real opportunities.
Today, Gacalo Tech is a thriving community empowering Somali girls with hands-on technology training, mentorship programs, project-based learning, and career pathways. From web and mobile development to UI/UX design, cybersecurity, and data science we equip girls with the skills and confidence to step boldly into tech.
Gacalo Tech is not only a training initiative it is a sisterhood. A space built by Somali girls, for Somali girls, where young women connect, support one another, and grow together.
