About This Event
Eng. Ruweida Muzamil opened the session by helping participants understand the crucial difference between UI (how a product looks) and UX (how a product feels and works). She explained that successful digital products require more than just attractive visuals — they must be intuitive, accessible, and designed with the user’s needs in mind. This foundation prepared attendees to explore how thoughtful design enhances everyday digital interactions.
The workshop introduced the concept of user research, where designers gather insights about their audience before creating any interface. Ruweida explained tools such as personas, empathy maps, and user journeys, demonstrating how understanding user behavior leads to smarter design decisions. Participants learned that strong UI/UX design begins long before choosing colors or fonts.
Ruweida then guided attendees through the practical process of turning ideas into wireframes and prototypes. She shared tips on structuring layouts, establishing visual hierarchy, and ensuring consistency across screens. Participants were encouraged to experiment with tools like Figma or Adobe XD, even if they were complete beginners.
Another key focus was usability testing — the step where designers observe how real users interact with their prototypes. Ruweida explained how simple testing sessions can reveal design flaws and opportunities for improvement, ultimately resulting in more user-friendly products.
By the end of the workshop, participants felt empowered to begin their design journey with confidence. They left with a clear roadmap, practical guidance, and an understanding that creativity, empathy, and attention to detail lie at the heart of great UI/UX design.
